I am a Mum to two beautiful children, Molly aged 15 and Harry 1. Harry was born 8 weeks premature back in December 2017, this was a very traumatic and stressful time for myself and my family. He spent 5 weeks on the Neonatal ward before he was strong enough to come home.
Coming so close to losing my baby boy really made me re-evaluate my life. Having worked within the corporate learning and development world for the last 20 years, I decided I wanted to regain some work life balance and fulfil my lifelong dream of working with children. It was whilst I was on maternity leave and looking for groups to take my teeny tiny (silent) reflux baby to that I came across Kalma Baby. The classes were so relaxed and friendly (which was a relief as I was suffering with anxiety) and just spending precious one-to-one time with my little preemie baby and seeing him develop and get stronger was just the best feeling ever. He would always sleep better after a session and his trapped wind would also find its way out! Having practised yoga myself for several years the classes helped me to reconnect to the benefits it brings both physically (even with a cage in my back) and especially mentally.
This has led me to embark on a very exciting career change and combine my passion for yoga andambition to work with children and become a Kalma Baby yoga teacher. I couldn’t be more excited about the prospect of helping lots of little and big yogis to reap the benefits that yoga has to offer.
I am fully trained, insured and hold an enhanced DBS, with Safeguarding and Paediatric First Aid Certificate. The Kalma Baby brand also boasts a GOLD accreditation from the Children’s Activity Association, they are the only regulating body for children’s activities in the UK.
